Kaligandaki trek in Nepal is one of the very popular trekking destinations. This trek offers views of flora & fauna and settlements where there are different ethnic groups. Here, you can find the deepest gorge in the world. Kaligandaki trek routes are alongside Kaligandaki river. On the way, you will also visit the famous viewpoint of poon Hill. It is at a vantage point. From there one can see the stunning view of surrounding mountains such as Dhaulagiri I, Tukuche peak, Dhampus peak, Nilgiri Himal, BarahShikhar, Annapurna I, Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and Manaslu in the far east. It is also popular for sunrise and sunset views on the mountain peaks.
From Poonhill, once again you need to follow the path along Kaligandaki river. It leads to different settlements of Gurung and Thakalis. There is also a village named Thak Khola, which is the board of Thanks. Connecting routes of Marpha, Jomsom, Kagbeni bring you to a place called Muktinath.
Muktinath is the Temple of Liberation. Both Buddhists and Hindus come here to wash away sins and bad karma. After visiting Muktinath we have the option to visit a very rarely visited village called Lubra. The main attraction of this village is the Bon Monastery. It is one of the very old Buddhist monasteries in Nepal which originated from Tibet. There are a few tea houses and you will get some snacks or hot lunch in Lubra.
After visiting the Bon Monastery we continue to follow the route to Jomsom alongside the Kali Gandaki river once again. In the afternoon, it is very windy. This place is also called the windy valley. Finally, we reach Jomsom. It is the main headquarter of the Mustang district.
The next day we catch a flight from Jomsom to Pokhara or there are also possibilities of Bus and jeep at Jomsom airport to Pokhara. We the Bergreisen Nepal P.
