Langtang Valley Trekking is a captivating adventure that takes you through the stunning landscapes of Nepal's Langtang region. Langtang valley trek is one of the most beautiful and closest place from the snow capped mountains. This valley is also known as the valley of glacier. One can enjoy lots of glacier and moraines along the way to langtang valley. The trekking route starts from Syabru bensi 1500m.  from the sea level to 4984m. High elevation Tsergo RI. After syabru bensi you have to follow the Langtang River through the Bamboo forest to Lama Hotel via Bamboo lodge. The next day you will arrive at langtang village at an elevation of 3440m.

The last destination of this trekking is called Kyangjin gompa at an elevation of 3817m. From sea level. Here you have to stay for two nights. The next day you will explore the surrounding villages through the old airfield to Tsergo RI. It takes almost 9- 10 hrs walking. So you have to carry a lunch packet together and also enough drinking water approx. 3 liters per person.

Langtang Valley Trek offers very fantastic, panoramic and mesmerizing views of the surrounding mountains, i.e. Mt. Annapurna, Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Langtang Lirung, Yala peak, Shisa pangma, Dorje lhakpa etc. One can also explore the life style, culture and tradition of the Sherpa, Tamang and Tibentan in this valley. After returning from Tsergo RI, you have to stay at the same lodges in kyangjin gompa. The next day is returning by the same way back to Shyabru bensi where you get the Bus or Jeep.

Places to visit in Langtang valley 

During the Langtang Valley Trekking, you'll encounter several remarkable places that showcase the natural beauty and cultural richness of the region. Some of the notable places to visit along the trek include:
Syabrubesi: The trek usually begins from Syabrubesi, a charming village that serves as the starting point for your Langtang adventure.
Lama Hotel: This is one of the initial stops on the trek, surrounded by lush forests and offering a serene environment for trekkers to rest.
Langtang Village: As you ascend, you'll reach Langtang Village, which was significantly affected by the devastating earthquake in 2015. Despite that, the village still offers insights into the local Tamang culture and stunning mountain views.
Kyanjin Gompa: One of the highlights of the trek is Kyanjin Gompa, a serene Buddhist monastery set against the backdrop of majestic mountains. The area around Kyanjin also provides opportunities for short hikes to panoramic viewpoints.
Tserko Ri: For those seeking an extra challenge and breathtaking panoramic views, the hike to Tserko Ri is a popular side trip from Kyanjin. It offers a stunning sunrise view over the Langtang Lirung range.
Gosaikunda Lake (optional side trek): While not directly on the Langtang Valley route, some trekkers choose to extend their journey to visit Gosaikunda Lake, a sacred high-altitude lake surrounded by snow-capped peaks.
Langshisha Kharka: This is an alpine meadow with spectacular views, situated above Kyanjin Gompa. It's a great place to experience the vastness of the landscape.
Chandanbari: On your way back, you'll likely pass through Chandanbari, offering different perspectives of the trail compared to your initial ascent.
Ghoda Tabela: Another stop on the return journey, Ghoda Tabela is a tranquil spot amidst the forested terrain.
Bamboo and Thulo Syabru: These villages on the descent back to Syabrubesi provide further insights into the local culture and lifestyle.

Day to Day Itinerary Expand/Collapse All

Our airport representative pick you up from the airport and bring you to the Hotel. Today we will provide the well come Dinner at the Nepali kitchen with cultural program. _ / _ /D.

After breakfast you will pick up by our guide from the hotel and drive to Syabru bensi. It is about 130km. from Kathmandu to syabru bensi. you will drive through a very beautiful landscape and the lowest valley about 450m. from sea level Trisuli bazar, Betrawati and finally cross the army check post at Dunche Bazar. After aprox. an hour you will arrive at the destination point Syabru bensi. Because of the graveled and narrow road it will take about 8 to 9 hrs with the jeep. B /L / D .

Today is the first day of the trekking. From here now you are entering to the Langtang National park area. Syabru bensi lies at an elevation of 1500m. from the sea level and Lama hotel lies at an elevation of 2460m. from the sea level. Walking along the trail treasured with forests of oak, rhododendron, and primitive Tamang villages you will be treated with the stunning view of great Himalayan peaks. It takes about 5 to 6 hrs walking from syabrubensi to lama hotel. B/L/D.

From Lama Hotel, you will continue the Trek through the Langtang Khola. The trail progresses, now steeper. We have the most exotic sights of Langtang Lirung lying at 7246 meter. The trail leads to across lush meadows of Ghora Tabela at 3100m. We will see the lodges on the way and a police check post. On the way you will also see the yak pastures and water mills, which driven with water. Also you will explore the tamang villages on the way. B/L/D.

After the breakfast you will continue the trek to Kyangjin Gompa. which is the last destination of this trek. You will cross a lot of yak pastures mani walls and the bridges. From now you might feeling thin air for the respiration. You have to drink a lot of liquid. Liquid means not alcoholic but water, soups and so one. walking time 4 to 5 hre. B/L/D.

Today is to explore the kyangjin village and the gompa or as your interest one can also visit the cheese factory at kyangjin village. There is also a alternative program to Tsergo ri at an elevation of 4984m. from here you can see the surrounding mountains. (8 to 9 hrs.).

Now you will returning back to Lama hotel from kyangjin and it is time to say good bye to kyangjin. The trail follows the same as you went up. B/L/D.

Today you will reach at the beginning point from where you started the trek. The trail goes from the upper part from sherpa village. This part is more beautiful than the lower part, because you can enjoy the mountains view ,the sherpa village and their lifestyle. Finally you will descend down to syabrubensi. walking duration 5 to 6 hrs. B/L/D.

Now you have to time to say good bye to the Langtang National Park. You can’t bring it together but you have a lots of memory captured in your camera, which you can easily take together with you. The driving hours takes approx. 8 to 9 hrs. B/L/D.

According to the plan today after breakfast your city guide will pick you from hotel and take you to the world Heritage site. Pashupati nath, Bouddha nath and Swayambhu nath. B/ – / FD.

Additional Information

✅ Waterproof and Windproof jacket and trousers (Gore-Tex or similar). For use if it rains or snows during the trek and in windy conditions.

✅ Trekking trousers. Long trouser, and shorts.

✅ Long sleeve tops or shirts (not cotton).

✅ Warm sweater.

✅ Mid to heavyweight fleece.

✅Thermals or base layer for top & bottom (merino wool or synthetic).

✅ Medium weight down jacket.

✅ Wool or fleece hat.

✅ Sun hat.

✅ Scarf (eg. Buff Headwear).

✅ Head torch. Bring extra batteries.

✅ Sleeping bag. Overnight lows down to -10 Celsius.

✅ Day pack. Recommended size is around 30 liters. You need to have enough space to carry water bottles, camera, snacks and extra clothing. The pack should have a good waist belt. It is also a good idea to bring a rain cover to keep the contents dry.

✅ A pair of Trekking poles, If you need it.

✅ Some pair of socks, woolen socks to keep your feet warm in the high elevation, and the other normal socks.

✅ Hand Gloves, Fleece Gloves.

✅ Sunscreen and lip salve with a high SPF.

✅ Duffel bag for your personal gear on the trek. Will be carried by a porter.
