Makalu Base camp trek takes you to the Khumbu region. Which provides the gigantic peaks of the mighty Himalayan region of Nepal. Mt. Makalu is one of the highest mountains above 8000 meters beside Mt.Everest and Mt. Kanchenjunga. The Mountain region is enclosed by Makalu Barun national park. The base camp of Mt. Rhododendron-covered forest iconic national flower that blooms to exuberance to be gazed at by the travelers and passers-by.
The lower belt is the dwelling of the Rai and Sherpa people. Although they were the first to climb and conquer Mt. Everest along with Sir Edmund Hillary. Shipton La pass is one of the prominent passes to the Makalu Mountain. So that travelers can stumble to different historic places and landmarks, such as Khongma, Tashi gaon, Siduwa, and Num valley, Manebhanjyang to keep them engaged to beautiful landscapes, riverbanks, and gorges, villages to keep them close to traditional Nepal and its flourishing culture. The best seasons for this trek are between May-June and September-October.
The Makalu base camp trek starts at 850 meters and wraps around 5000 meters above sea level. The climbers are challenged by the high altitude so it is essential that they have a pre climbing and trekking experience and are in good physical condition for the Makalu base camp trek.
