The Sherpa family of Forche of Khumbu Pasang Lhamu Village Municipality-4 has climbed Lhotse Himal. He successfully climbed the 8516-meter-high Lhotse on May 15 at 8 am. Last year, three members of the same family, Father Tenzing Dorji Sherpa, 51, son Sonam Tashi Sherpa, 28, and daughter Pasang Kanchi Sherpa, 21, set a world record by successfully climbing Mt. Everest. The same family has climbed Lhotse Himal this year.

This season’s mountaineering is in its final stages

Four people have died while climbing the mountain this year. According to Surya Prasad Upadhyaya, director of the tourism department, a Nepali aide and a foreign climber have died in Everest. Similarly, an Indian died in Kanchenjunga and a Nepali aide in Dhaulagiri. Upadhyay said that details of his death have not been released yet. However, in terms of numbers, the number of casualties this year is less than last year. According to him, 80 percent of the Arohan Dal’s campaign has been completed so far. Some teams have even returned to Kathmandu and briefed the tourism department. Some teams are in the process of climbing.

The ascent rate is higher

The success rate of climbers is also higher this year due to favorable weather and no major untoward incidents. Upadhyaya said that the details of this will be finalized after the details given by the liaison officer after all the climbers return to Kathmandu. The mountain was welcoming to 968 climbers from 123 multiple companies this year. There were 758 men and 210 women among them. This year, a total of 27 mountaineering licenses were issued. In Everest alone, 319 persons from 42 different groups had applied for permits.
