According to Hindu legend, Shiva and his wife Parvati live in the mountain areas. Many believers go all the way around this pilgrimage to free themselves from sins. The Kailash tour around Mt. Kailash takes about 3 – 6 days. It depends on how quickly the trekkers can go around. At the foot of the Kailash mountain are the Mansarovar and Rakshas lakes, which are of great importance to the pilgrims.
