At an elevation of 4250 meters above sea level, the Dona Lake Trek is located. Without such a doubt, it offers some of the best views in the world. The Dona Lake route journey offers a wide range of cultural experiences, as well as some of the most beautiful valleys and high mountains in the Annapurna range. Hiking to Dona Lake mainly focuses in Nepal’s lower Annapurna region. You may see the settlements of many communities such as Brahmins, Chhetri, Thakali, Magar, Tamang, and Tibetans on Dona lake hikes.
The first most popular outdoor trip in Nepal is to Dona Lake. Mt. Manaslu, Annapurna II, and Lamjung Himal can all be seen from this hike, which is rich in culture, vegetation, and animals. Furthermore, the walk to Dona Lake costs an average of 700 USD per person. The cost of the journey is determined by the size or volume of the packages. Hiking or trekking to this destination in April is spectacular due to the blooming of Rhododendrons, but the weather is unpredictable due to the high mountain landscapes.
Hiking to Dona Lake in the winter is not recommended due to the icy trail, and the lake is frozen, but the scenery is spectacular; similarly, hiking to Dona Lake in the monsoon is not recommended due to clouds, which masks the view of the surrounding mountain ranges and landscapes. From mid-June through mid-September, the monsoon season begins. The trek to Dona lake starts from Kathmandu to Besisahar by bus, and from Besisahar we take a local jeep to Jagat. Our trekking will be beginning from the next morning.
By crossing the suspension bridge in Karte we will heading to Nachei village and spend our first night at Nachei village in a local and simple homestay. Normally the trek takes 3 to 4 days. But it depends upon the speed of walking, and the physical condition of the travellers. At least we can plan for a week trip to Dona lake from starting to end.
Upon arrival at TIA in Kathmandu our airport executive will pick you up and transfer to Hotel in Thamel Kathmandu. Our trekking executive will brief you about the trip to Dona lake.
After having breakfast our guide will pick you from Hotel and drive to Besisahar. It takes about 7-8 hrs drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar and from Besisahar drive with the local jeep to Jagat about 2.5 hrs. On the way to Jagat you can witness the magnificent waterfall and hot spring near Marshyangdi river.
The trail continues today heading to the hill after crossing the small bridge. The trail leads to khotro village. Ascending after few hours we will arrive at Nache village.
Early morning you can witness the magnificent view of Mt. Manaslu, and Annapurna. After breakfast descend down towards Aloobari passing through the pine forest and rhododendron, a tiny trail which was made by the local shepherds.
Today we are following the Dona river by steep cliff up to Dharmasala. On the way one can also witness the mammals, such as Himalayan Thar, Langur, Goral, etc. you can also watch the panoramic view of Mt. Manaslu from here. Dharmasala is really the amazing inhabitants of pastureland of this place.
After day hiking in the Annapurna section, we walk to Dona lake through the colorful rhododendron forest. Today the highlight of our trek is to the arctic Dona lake with the magnificent view of Mt. Manaslu, and a huge cave. After visiting Dona lake, we will return back to Kromtong.
Now today is our last day of trekking. We will climb all the way down to Jagat. Which we did all the way up to Dona lake.
After breakfast at Jagat. You will pick up by the local jeep from Jagat to Besisahar. In Besisahar our private vehicle is waiting for you, and pick you up from there to Kathmandu.
Today is a day sight seen in kathmandu valley. The world heritage site, Pashupatinath Nath, Bouddhanath, and Swayambhu Nath, after the breakfast at Hotel our city or culture guide will receive you for the sightseeing.
As per your flight schedule our airport executive will bring you to the TIA (Tribhuvan Internation Airport), for the final departure to your home country.
