The number of tourists visiting the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, has increased by more than 83%. Compared to the financial year 2077/078, tourist traffic has increased by 83.62% in 078/079.

According to the statistics of the park, 4 thousand 335 tourists visited Everest region last year, 26 thousand 474 people visited it in 078/079. Which is numerically more than 22 thousand 139 people.

Among them 21 thousand 198 foreigners and 5 thousand 276 Nepalis, information officer of the park office informed. In the Khumbu region, two seasons of the year are September to November and from March to May.

The park, which was established in 2032, is spread over an area of ​​1,148 square kilometers. In this national park, the world's highest peak, Mount Everest, including the snow peaks of Lhotse, Nuptse, Choyu, Lhotsesar, Pumori, Amadablam and Thamserku, which are more than 6,000 meters high.

Since 1979, the park has been listed in the World Heritage site. Gokyo and associated lakes within the park were included in the Ramsar list in 2007.

Revenue of Everest National Park increased by 74 percent

There has been an increase of 74 percent in the revenue collection of Solukhumbu, which is called Everest National Park. Compared to last financial year 2077/078, there is an increase in revenue collection in 078/079 by 74.43 percent.

Park Information Officer informed that the park collected 1 crore 21 lakh revenue in the financial year 077/078 and managed to collect 4 crore 73 lakh 28 thousand 999.14 rupees in 078/079.

The park charges tourist entry fee, non-timber forest production and helicopter flight and landing fee. The park charges Rs 3,000 per person for the foreign tourists, Rs 1,500 from tourists from SAARC countries, Rs 100 from Nepalese tourists and Rs 25 from porters.

A landing fee of 3,000 rupees is charged for each helicopter flight and landing.
