Tourism infrastructure development in Solukhumbu

Solukhumbu only municipality, Solududhakunda, has received a budget of nearly 50 million for the development of tourism infrastructure. On the initiative of the municipality, Rs. 4 crore 77 lakh rupees have been allocated to prepare the Trekking trail from Pikey danda to Dudhkunda Lake.

Mayor Namgel Jangbu Sherpa laid the foundation stone of the plan on Sunday. Rishiraj Phuyal, head of construction company Jalukeni Nirman Seva Pvt. Ltd., said that 20-25 kilometers of trekking trail will be prepared from Pike Danda this year. Roshan Khadka, engineer of the tourism department informed that 3 km of stairs, 4 km of soling, 2 rest houses, 100 cubic meters of netting, 250 cubic meters of machinery wall, wooden bridges and other structures will be constructed as required.

According to the Solududhakund Municipality, the target is to connect Dudhkunda Lake from Pike Danda to Taktor, Junbeshi, which will use maximum number of the resources available at the local level. Addressing the groundbreaking ceremony, Mayor Nangyel Zangbu Sherpa instructed the construction company to pay attention to the quality of work. He urged the local government to work in such a way that the state's investment is fully utilized, as the local government is ready to help if needed.

The head of the construction company, Rishiraj Phuyal, recalled that the tourism department allocated funds after the tireless efforts of the municipality and promised not to let the quality of the work decrease. In the foundation-laying program held on June 2, Solududhakund Municipality, Mayor Namgel Janbu Sherpa along with Deputy Mayor Gandhi Maya Tamang, Chairman of Ward No. 2 Ngwang Thile Sherpa, Ward Chairman of Ward No. 3 Lhakpa Gelu Sherpa, Rishiram Phuyal, head of the construction company, Roshan Khadka, engineer of the tourism department, local tourism businessmen and others participated.
