Is Mundum Trek a Tea House Trek or Camping Trek?

The Mundum Trekking Trail is semi-organized and partially developed, which means:

  • Some villages along the route have basic tea houses or homestays, especially in places like Chakhewa, Dhotre, Maiyung, and Rawadhap.

  • However, in higher altitudes or remote sections like Salpa Bhanjyang and Silichung Peak, proper tea houses may not be available or are very limited.

  • So, for these sections, camping with tents, sleeping gear, and kitchen utensils is necessary.

Recommended Style: Combined Tea House + Camping Trek

To ensure comfort and flexibility:

🔸 Use tea houses or local homestays where available (for overnight stays and meals).
🔸 Camp in remote or high-altitude places like Salpa Bhanjyang and Silichung Viewpoint.
🔸 Carry a cook and kitchen equipment for meals in camping sections.

This hybrid trekking style ensures safety, better meal planning, and access to beautiful but less-developed parts of the trail.

What You’ll Need for Camping Sections:

  • Tents & ground mats

  • Sleeping bags

  • Portable kitchen setup (gas stove, cooking pots, utensils)

  • Cook and support staff

  • Enough dry food and clean water supply

When you book through us at Berg Reisen Nepal Pvt. Ltd., we arrange everything—from gear to staff—so you can focus on enjoying the trek worry-free.
