This mystical adventure begins at the border town of Kirong Rasuwa and takes you through breathtaking landscapes, ancient cultures, and spiritual sites that have inspired devotion for millennia.
Your adventure begins with your arrival in Kathmandu, where you will be greeted by a representative of Berg Reisen Nepal. After settling into your hotel, the rest of the day is free for you to explore the vibrant streets of Thamel or visit some of Kathmandu’s UNESCO World Heritage sites, such as Pashupatinath Temple or Swayambhunath Stupa. In the evening, we will have a briefing session about the upcoming journey.

Early in the morning, we depart Kathmandu for a scenic drive to Syabrubesi, a charming town nestled in the Langtang Valley. The road winds through lush hills, terraced fields, and rural villages, providing glimpses of daily life in Nepal’s countryside. Syabrubesi serves as the gateway to the Langtang National Park and our journey towards the Tibetan border.

After breakfast, we embark on a short drive to the Nepal-Tibet border at Rasuwagadhi. After completing the necessary border formalities, we cross into Tibet and continue to Kirong, a small town surrounded by stunning mountain vistas. You will have time to rest and acclimatize to the higher altitude.

Today is dedicated to acclimatization. We will take short hikes around Kirong, visiting local monasteries and enjoying the serene beauty of the Tibetan plateau. The day is also an opportunity to immerse yourself in Tibetan culture and prepare for the higher elevations ahead.

We continue our journey towards Saga, a bustling town on the banks of the Brahmaputra River. The drive offers stunning views of the Tibetan landscape, with its wide plains, distant mountains, and occasional nomadic herders tending to their yaks. Upon arrival in Saga, we will check into our hotel and rest for the night.

This morning, we set out for the sacred Lake Mansarovar, a place of immense spiritual significance. The lake is believed to be the source of the four great rivers of Asia and is revered as the abode of purity. Upon arrival, we will perform a holy dip in the lake’s waters, followed by a short hike around the lake’s shore.

After a peaceful morning at Lake Mansarovar, we drive to Darchen, the base camp for the Kailash Parikrama (circumambulation). Darchen is a small town with a significant religious and cultural atmosphere, as it serves as the starting point for pilgrims undertaking the Parikrama of Mount Kailash.

Today, we begin the sacred Kailash Parikrama. We trek from Darchen to Diraphuk, a journey that offers close-up views of the north face of Mount Kailash, considered the most auspicious side of the mountain. The trail is moderately challenging but the spiritual significance and the awe-inspiring scenery make it deeply rewarding.

The second day of the Parikrama is the most challenging, as we cross the Dolma-La Pass (5,636m), the highest point of the trek. After offering prayers at the pass, we descend to Zuthulphuk, where you can see the famous Milarepa’s Cave, a site of great spiritual significance.

On the final day of the Parikrama, we trek back to the starting point near Darchen and drive back to Saga. The sense of accomplishment and spiritual fulfillment you will feel at completing the Parikrama is indescribable. The drive back to Saga allows you to reflect on the incredible journey.

Retracing our steps, we drive back to Kirong, where we will spend the night before crossing the border back into Nepal. The return journey offers another opportunity to soak in the beautiful Tibetan landscape.

After completing border formalities at Rasuwagadhi, we cross back into Nepal and drive to Syabrubesi. The lush greenery of Nepal’s hills and the warmth of the local people welcome you back.

We depart Syabrubesi for the final leg of our journey back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you can rest, explore the city, or do some last-minute shopping. In the evening, we will have a farewell dinner to celebrate the successful completion of our journey.

Your journey to the sacred Kailash Mansarovar concludes today. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have some free time to explore more of Kathmandu before your departure. A representative from Berg Reisen Nepal will transfer you to the airport for your onward journey.
