Attractions of Sailung Trek:

Sailung Trek is a panoramic trek to the Dolakha region of Nepal. Sailing is located at an altitude of 3150 meters at the junction of Dolakha and Ramechhap. To arrive here you will cover the road trails of Mude to Dhunge and then hike for some hours to see the views from Sailung hills.

This place is also famous to be a holy spot of Sailungeshwor Mahadev. You will witness mesmerizing meadow and rhododendron covered forest on the way from Baghdhunga. Green hills rise above against the backdrop of the glistening peak of Langtang and Gauri Shankar Mountain ranges. This area is cold but the surrounding views are ethereal to watch.

Land of indigenous people:

Sailung is near to Kathmandu. It is home to indigenous people their traditions and lifestyles. Here Tamangs, Newari, Lamas, and Sherpa live in a harmony. It has captivating landscapes and village houses at Pasiban, Teksing, and Solambu. You can see yak trails in the nontourist and less crowded area.

During the Sailung trek, you can have your own moments of splendor by hiking off the roads from Mude to Sailung. The trek offers views of surrounding scenery. You can see Buddhist Monastery which is around six hundred years old. There are Buddhist flags around the monastery that are fluttering in the wind.

Most people often visit here to view the sunrise view on the mountain peaks early morning at Sailung hill. Sailung trekking is an enchanting experience altogether.

On the days of Janai Purnima, Bala Chaturdasi and Barabarse Mela the Hindu devotees gather in Sailung. The Mahadev temple is mostly visited on these occasions by Hindu devotees.

Sailung lies on the Eastern part of the Himalayas with very few cozy accommodations such as lodge or hotel. To visit, spring season and autumn season are the best seasons for coming here. Winter is very harsh and snowy. Throughout the trek be a part of homestay and camping experience in eastern Nepal.

Welcome to Nepal for Sailung trek. We will receive you from airport, with your luggage drive down to the hotel room in Kathmandu. Welcome program and briefing of the remaining tour in the evening. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

We drive in the morning after breakfast ,from Kathmandu to Mude and arrive at Dhunge. It takes five hours drive from Kathmandu. Then at Dhunge we climb up to Sailung on a ninety-minute walk and from there descend to Khola Kharka which is a Sherpa village. We will settle at newly established community lodge run by Tamang and Sherpa people. Overnight stay at Khola Kharka.

You start the day with sightseeing of Sailung hill. The surrounding landscapes are so mesmerizing and mystic. You will see mountain peaks such as Mt. Annapurna, Mt. Manaslu, Ganesh Himal, Rolwaling and tall Mt. Everest peak can be seen at a distance. You will also visit Thulo Sailung and see the deity of Tamang people. It was earlier occupied by border security officers. Overnight at home stay.

On this day we begin to explore the Sherpa and Tamang villages head downing to Sailung forest . It is covered with rhododendrons, waterfall until you arrive at Surkhey. You will homestay here and also see the Thami community and their welcoming to you at a local spirit. Overnight stay at Surkhey.

In the morning, you walk to the terraced lands of Doramba valley and enter Doramba bazaar. Many Tamangs of Nepal live at Doramba. The marketplace has small local shops and stores. Overnight at home stay in Doramba village.

We begin to ascend towards Agleshwari danda and descend down till you arrive at Galpa bazaar. You will visit Khandadevi temple. Overnight at homestay in Khandadevi.

Leaving Khandadevi behind you move towards Hiledevi. You can see the idol of Lord Shiva on the rock and then emerge at Dongme. Then climb to summit of Sunpati where there are Buddhist chortens. Then you come to the lodge of Yolmo people. Overnight at home stay.

We head towards a village of Lubughat by taking the routes of Koshi River. At Lubughat, you will find the locals who are fishermen by occupation. Overnight at home stay in Lubughat.

Leaving Lubughat we hike till Nepalthok and then drive on a private vehicle to come back at hotel in Kathmandu. Overnight stay in Kathmandu.

We end the full circle of the memorable Sailung trek in Nepal. We will drive you to airport in the morning, few hours earlier than the scheduled flight back home. Have a pleasant journey back home.
